Miami, FL: Miami Book Fair

I’ll be at the Miami Book Fair this year to discuss my two new books, Fall Through and Lies My Teacher Told Me.

Saturday, November 23rd I’ll be discussing Fall Through and my magical realist fiction alongside writer extraordinaire Brian Michael Bendis and moderator/editor Charlie Kochman for the “Fantasy World: Survival, Spells & Sorcery” panel, with Q&A and a signing afterward! 12pm in the MAGIC screening room (Building 8, Room 1).

Sunday, November 24th I’ll be discussing Lies My Teacher Told Me in the “Taking Another Look: Rethinking Historical Narratives” panel alongside David F. Walker, Marcus Kwame Anderson, and Tim Wendel, with Q&A and signing afterward. 2:30pm in the MAGIC screening room as well.

Columbus, OH: CXC special guest!

I’ll be returning to the beloved Cartoon Crossroads Columbus this year as a special guest!

I’ve got plenty to discuss about my new books, Fall Through and Lies My Teacher Told Me— I’ll be selling my usual jams at table 47 all weekend.

Panels & special signings:

Saturday 3:30-4:30pm: “Processing Our Modern World Through Comics and Activism” panel, 1st floor auditorium.

Sunday 2:00-3:00pm: “Nonfiction Comics & History: Youth Explosion” panel, Room 1A on the first floor.

Sunday 3:00-3:30pm: I’ll be signing at the official CXC signing tables (107-108), then back to my booth for the rest of the afternoon.

Morgantown WV: talk/signing/exhibit at WVU

I’ll be discussing my work— particularly my nonfiction comics work, including March— at Bloch Hall (1436 Evansdale Dr.) on West Virginia University campus in Morgantown on September 16th. e talk, mosey one block over to the Art Museum where I’ll be signing books and you can check out some original pages from March on display in the musuem’s exhibit.

I’ll be returning to the beloved Small Press Expo in North Bethesda, MD this September 14-15— it’s at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel & Conference Center (5701 Marinelli Rd.).

I’ll be slangin books all weekend at table H14.

Louisville KY: in conversation with Molly Ostertag!

Molly Ostertag is a brilliant cartoonist and a creative kindred spirit, and I’ve loved every one of her books. Her new graphic novel, The Deep Dark, is a 500-page masterpiece out this week!

I’ll be in Louisville, KY on Saturday, June 8th to discuss this new book (as well as the Witch Boy trilogy, The Girl From The Sea, and more!) with Molly at the public library (301 York St.)— 6pm. See you there!

I’ll be discussing my different creative approaches for fiction vs. nonfiction comics storytelling in my new books, Fall Through and Lies My Teacher Told Me at the Ann Arbor District Library (343 S. 5th Ave.) on May 31st at 6:00 pm, with a Q&A and signing to follow!

This talk will be a special presentation to coincide with an exhibition of original artwork from these two books, “Astray: Nate Powell’s Sorcerer Punks and US History Myths,” in the lower level of the library— be sure to check out the originals before or after the event. Thanks!

I’ll be at indie gem SPACE in Columbus, OH with my new books Fall Through and Lies My Teacher Told Me— it’ll be at the Rhodes Center in the Ohio State Fair & Expo grounds (the last time I was there, my bands Soophie Nun Squad and Boomfancy played there in 2000!).

I’ll also be doing a talk/Q&A about my work on Lies and my different creative approaches to fiction vs. nonfiction work at 2pm Saturday.

Bloomington-- Coffee With Friends talk about 'FALL THROUGH' + more

Bloomington— I’ll be discussing my work on the new graphic novel Fall Through (and more) with Monroe County Public Library’s Coffee With Friends group!

(I recommend picking up a copy of Fall Through first, possibly at my Feb. 9th talk/signing at Morgenstern’s.)
